Kampot and Sihanookville

At the guesthouse in Kampot I found myself with a new little friend. For about two weeks, everyplace I would visit had puppies like this one. Leaving Laos, I almost took one with me. I was tempted to take this little gal too, but thought better of it.

Kampot is a pretty quite, river town near the coast in Cambodia. It's biggest tourist atractions involve an abondoned casino a top a picturesque clif and it's close proximity to Kep, a sleepy beach town. I opted for a group tour of Bokor Hill station ( at the right) and a 50km bike ride to Kep (seperate days).

I actually found these rocks more interesting than the abondoned casino. Overall, I'd have to say it was a rather disapointing tour considering I spent over six hours of it in the back of a pick up truck, which ended up with a broken suspention by the end of the trip, nasty roads!

On the right is a picture I took of Annie and Glen, my biking companions to Kep. We had a bit of company along the way.

Here's Sihannookville, my Christmas destination. Not too bad eh? It was like a vacation from the vacation where the livin' was easy and time seems to melt away under the beautiful blue sky.

I met Jacob, ollie (Finish) and Annie (German) in Kampot, they were my extended family for this part of the trip.
